George Segal: Street Crossing
Instead of traditional casting, Segal used plaster bandages which are designed for orthopedic casts. In his work Street Crossing the seven figures appear to be unaware of each other, all facing different directions. Segal had an ability to make an everyday task look elegant. This is due to the fact that he constructs his figures to look relaxed in a natural stance no matter what the task.
