This piece was created by Bernini in 1643 and is named
Fontana del Tritone. Pope Urban VII commisioned the young sculpture to create this piece and it now lays in the Palazzo Barberini in Rome.
The piece features Triton, a mythical god and king of the sea, who has a four dolphin type tails. A conch is to his lips as if he is blowing out, and this is where the water for the fountain is released. This piece is one of Bernini's first "free-standing" pieces and is in a baroque style.
