This is a painting created in 1999 by artist Via Muniz. The painting is called Double Mona Lisa after Andy Warhol. Warhol created a black and white piece similar to this one. I chose this piece of art by Muniz because it is made out of peanut butter and jelly! As opposed to Warhol's simple black and white piece, Muniz used materials around him to create art and then photograph them. I enjoy how he uses various materials to create art and thought this one was especially intriguing.
