Bernini

Bernini was an Italian sculpture and architect who worked in the 1600s. He is most famous for his very detailed marble sculptures of people and his large architectural churches. This sculpture, Saint Longinus, was done by Bernini in 1638. This sculpture stood out to me because it is such a big sculpture, 13 feet high, full of very fine detail. Now you can see it across from St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. From the drapes he is wearing to the details in his hair and on his face, Bernini was very precise with this sculpture and especially all of the details he put into this marble figure.
