Camille Claudel

Camille Claudel is a french artist that portaryed great skill in her depiction of raw and real emotion. She drew from the innocence of children, the experience of old age, and the complexity of love and madness. In all of her artwork she incorporated intense expressions, psychological investment, and truth.  She wanted to understand human mood and interaction through her artwork. In one of her pieces, The Waltz, a couple dances together in a harmonious embrace showing the passion in the relationship. The sculpture is cast in bronze and shows two people very in love leaning to one side, which some say can symbolize that a relationship can be quickly built up but easily fall. She made this sculpture the same year she started a relationship with Rodin. The overall energy of the piece is joyous and romantic.
