Vik Muniz

Vik Muniz is a Brazilian artist and photographer. He is well known for his photographic work which ranges with a variety of materials. He uses things such as chocolate, sugar, peanut butter, jelly, and garbage. Muniz also recreates works and scenes from popular culture with garbage. In 2010 he decided to recreate the people who scour Rio's trash dump for recyclable materials. A documentary was made called Waste Land that shows his progress in creating artwork from pictures of piles of garbage.
