Vik Muniz is a Brazilian photographer and artist that uses different types of mediums to create his work. This masterpiece of Sigmund Freud was made in 1997. When I first saw this, I thought this was made with paint. I would have never thought this work of art was made by chocolate syrup. I find it very interesting how Muniz was able to create texture and shadow with just chocolate syrup. Diving into more abstract thought, maybe Muniz used chocolate syrup instead of jelly (used this product in other works) because he thought of Freud as a bitter man.
