Vik Muniz
This painting by Vik Muniz is called, " mahana no atua", which translates into English as Day of the Gods. I choice this art piece because after seeing the documentary and reading about Vik Muniz, he seems to have a strong sense of his heritage and where he came from. This painting has a lot of bright colors that seemed to reflect his culture he grew up around. This painting was originally painted by Paul Gauguin who was inspired to paint this from the time he spent around south and central American, and Tahiti. In this painting, the three goddesses are to represent, birth, life and death. I think this painting spoke a lot to him, and especially his dedication into creating artwork from anything.
